Based on Intel's H61 Express chipset, the 2.2 revision of Gigabyte's GA-H61M-DS2 motherboard might be one of the really nice options for people looking to build a powerful but small computer for entertainment or office use.
The Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2 supports the new 22nm Intel CPUs and is thus compatible with all the new technologies in the industry. Users will surely enjoy the higher processing power and better energy efficiency, while at the same time benefit from the HD-capable graphic chipset in these processors.
Like pretty much the rest of Gigabyte's new motherboards, the GA-H61M-DS2 comes with enhanced protection features that ensure better endurance in high temperature conditions, electrostatic protection, advanced defense in case of power failures and excessive humidity.
It’s too bad the GA-H61M-DS2 doesn't seem to have been endowed with USB 3.0 ports or 6GB/s SATA connectors, but taking into account the mATX form factor, this does not come as a surprise. However, users get 8 USB 2.0 ports and 4 SATA 3Gb/s connectors, with dual PCIe 2.0 slots, while the 16 GB DDR3 maximum memory can be installed in two dual-channel architecture DIMM sockets.
